Your biggest challenge is deciding where to go. Let me help you make that decision easier by pointing out some key factors you need to decide before making your move.  The first one is where do I want to live; well you have decided to live in Sarasota Florida.

Sarasota is famous for its number of golf courses, over 80 courses in Sarasota County along, and numerous golf course communities to choose from.  Now that you have chosen Sarasota, the next big decision is what part of town you would like to live in.  We will examine a part of Sarasota each week and point out some of the outstanding courses and their communities.

Let’s begin with the Bee Ridge to Clark Road corridor.  There a number of top developments in this area, Here’s a few that really stand out.

Laurel Oak Country Club is a private, member-owned club.  Its outstanding facilities include two championship golf courses crafted by Gary Player and Rees Jones, the famed "U.S. Open Doctor", The club's other amenities include 12 Har Tru tennis courts, a full-size heated swimming pool and a beautiful 45,000 square foot clubhouse.

Bent Tree Country Club is next with its tree-lined fairways of towering mature oaks, expansive meticulously kept greens, and miles of lakes and streams create a unique and tranquil setting for  , 18 holes of first-class championship golf .  Bent Tree hosted the Sarasota LPGA Classic from 1976-1988. Nancy Lopez won her first LPGA tournament at Bent Tree, and later added her 35th career victory here that gained her entry into the LPGA Hall of Fame.

Next you have to consider Heritage Oaks Golf & Country Club.   This private country club has everything: a full range of amenities including 18 hole championship golf course, four lighted tennis courts, 5 pools, an active fitness center, a popular social program, and a gorgeous clubhouse.

Right across the street is Misty Creek; there is only one golf course in all of Southwest Florida that is set in a wildlife preserve with resident bald eagles. There is only one championship golf course where virtually every fairway is bordered on one or both sides by dense vegetation and live oak forests… and there is only one golf course with one spectacular view after another. “Misty Creek”.

Other courses in the Bee Ridge, Clark Road include Gator Creek, and Serenoa

Stayed tuned next week and we will examine South Sarasota and its golf communities.  Until then there no better place to play golf, there no better place to live in a golf course community than Sarasota Florida a “Golfers Paradise”  Let me help you find that perfect Golf community, call me @ 941-915-9961 or drop me a email @ eslinger.realty@gmail.com

You are thinking of moving to Florida, (Sarasota that is).  You have decided you want to live in a Golfing community, or, you already live in Florida and you have decided to move to a Golfing Community.  Well I am here to give you a hand.  To help arm yourself with the facts, I’ve put together some questions.  These first set of questions you will want to ask yourself.  These should help you determine the where, why and the when.

I.              Do you play golf enough to justify moving to golf community?

II.            Do you want a Home or A Condo?

III.           Will you live there year round or seasonally?

IV.           How big of a home or Condo do you want (Number of Bedrooms &

                Baths etc)?

V.            What kind of view do you want out the back window?

VI.           What kind of amenities do you want from the club (Dining, Pool, Club

                activities, Just Golf?)

VII.         What amenities do you want outside the community (Different types of

               shopping,entertainment, hospitals,airports)

After you have answered these questions you have taken our first step in the right direction, to be honest this will make my ability to help you a lot easier. Ok now, these next set of questions will give a better understanding of the community you are looking at and help decide is this the right place to be..

I.              How old is the Golf Course

II.            How many members do you have here

III.           What is the average age of the membership

IV.           What are the fees involved with being a member here.

V.            What is the financial strength of the Club itself

VI.           What type of activities do you have here other than just golf?

VII.         What if any are the future plans for the Golf Course and the Club

The answer to these questions will help give you a better understanding of what to expect out of the quality of life and exclusivity at the community itself.  The market for golf course communities as well as they way people buy them has changed considerably from just a few years ago. Ask these questions of yourself and the community you are considering and your search for your fairway dream home will be a successful one.  As always I am here to help, If you are thinking about purchasing real estate in Sarasota, let me help.
