In the mid 1920’s the city of Sarasota hired Ross to design a municipal golf course that became known as the Bobby Jones Golf Club, and was opened to the public in 1927.
Now some 85 years later, Sarasota is home to more than 80 public, private, and semi-private golf courses, with a number of them located in beautiful residential and gated communities throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. It's no wonder Sarasota is ranked as one of the premiere golfing communities in the United States.
